Partially Enclosed Lifeboats, complying with the requirements of SOLAS Chapter III and the IMO LSA Code, are permitted to be recovered, hoisted and re-stowed onboard vessels by gravity luffing arm davit systems.
IMO rules stipulate partially enclosed lifeboats shall feature rigid covers covering ≥20% of the bow and stern, foldable full-enclosure weatherproof canopies, automatic self-bailing functionality, and access doors at the bow, stern and both lateral sides.
