According to ISO 799 and ISO 5489, Chocks (step fixtures) shall be of a type that retains at least 30% of its original tensile strength and at least 80% of its original impact strength when subjected to the one-year outdoor weathering test described in method A of ISO 877.
Chocks (step fixtures) are the specialized structural to keep pilot ladder and embarkation ladder steps fixed and horizontal. All chocks must be properly designed and fitted to prevent the ladder from twisting, bowing, or having steps slide along the side ropes.
