Fibre Ropes (Manila and Sisal)

Fibre Ropes (Manila and Sisal) are mandated standard by ISO 799 and ISO 5489 constructing pilot ladder or embarkation ladder side ropes and man-ropes.

  • Compliant to ISO 799 and ISO 5489
  • High tensile strength and minimal stretch
  • Non-slip grip and anti-corrosion under wet, salty maritime conditions
  • Mildew-resistant
  • Side ropes breaking strength ≥24 kN
  • Man-ropes breaking strength ≥48 kN

According to ISO 799 and ISO 5489, Fibre Ropes (Manila and Sisal) shall be mildew-resistant and meeting ISO 1181, Quality 1, each side rope shall have a breaking strength of at least 24 kN and man-rope is 48 kN, and the specification of the diameter of
side ropes should be 20 mm and man-rope is 28mm.

Description

Introduction:

Fibre Ropes (Manila and Sisal) are acting as the structural side ropes for piot ladder and embarkation ladder that support the weight of the ladder, and providing a pair of secondary grip ropes (manropes) to help maritime pilots safely ascend or descend the vessel.

To guarantee the safety of pilots during ship transfer operations, the design, dimensions and arrangement of fibre ropes are strictly compliant to SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 23 and ISO 799-1.
